Swagman XC2 Bike Rack Review - 2024 Hyundai Tucson- Video
How's it going, neighbors This is Ed with etrailer.com, and we're taking a look at the Swagman E-SPEC Bike Carrier on our 2024 Hyundai Tucson. The E-SPEC is a frame-mounted bike carrier, so your padded hook is gonna make contact with your top tube. If you have a carbon fiber bike or a bike with a nice paint job where you didn't want to have contact, or even a unconventional bike like a step through, this may not be the best option for you right out the gate. You're also secured using cradles on the front and rear that strap into place to stabilize your bike to the back of the vehicle. The E-SPEC has locking handles as far as your hooks that mount to your bike, so that's another cool thing that's gonna keep everything nice and secure. Let's take our bike off of the carrier and we can take a closer look at some of the features. more

How's it going neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com and we're taking a look at the Swagman Okanagan 125 Bike Carrier on our 2024 Hyundai Tucson. The Okanagan is a wheel mounted bike carrier that's going to allow you to transport your bike without making any contact to your top tube. So if you have a carbon fiber bike or an unconventional frame, you'll be able to make use of the bike carrier without making contact to your actual frame. And with our XL frame bike, you can see even shaking the carrier, you're not in any risk of making contact with the back of your vehicle. So let's take a look at our tilt. How's it going neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com and we're taking a look at the XTC2 TILT from Swagman on our 2024 Hyundai Tucson. Our carrier is a frame-mounted bike carrier, so it's actually contacts right here on the top tube and on your front and rear wheel. So if you have a bike that's a little bit nicer or unconventional frame, you may have issues as far as using this carrier and getting the most out of securing your bike. An observation I made while taking a look at the XTC2 is the fact that it is kind of a small carrier. This is actually a small frame bike here. We tried to load a XL frame mountain bike and it just simply too large to fit on the inside and the small is still gonna make contact with the back of your tailgate and your handlebars can come close to your window. more

Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2023 Hyundai Tucson- Video
How's it going neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com, and we're taking a look at the Kuat NV 2.0 base on our 2023 Hyundai Tucson. So when you take a look at the NV 2.0, you notice that it secures your bike by the wheels 'cause it is a wheel-mounted carrier, and that's gonna work for the person that's looking for a bike carrier that's not gonna make contact with their frame. So if you have a carbon fiber frame or a bike with a special paint job, step through unconventional frame, any one of those things, this is gonna be what you want to go for for the best, secure fit. And then on the rear, you're gonna have a single strap that goes between your spokes and keeps everything stable and connected on the very rear. At the end of our cradle here, you also have your included cable lock to secure your bike to the carrier itself. Overall with Kuat, as far as where they land with quality, I would say that they're on the higher, better, more refined, more premium end. more

Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2023 Hyundai Tucson- Video
How's it going neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com, and we're gonna take a look at the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE on the back of a 2023 Hyundai Tucson. So the Sport Rider is a frame-mounted bike carrier, so that means you're gonna have contact with the upper frame and it's also gonna secure your bike using straps with the loops on the front and rear wheel. Essentially what that's gonna do for you is, it's gonna stabilize your bike, but it does make contact with the frame. So if you have a bike that's a carbon fiber frame or something with a nice paint job or maybe even an unconventional frame bike, this may not be the best option. You might wanna look towards a wheel mount. However, on the back of our Tucson, this is gonna work pretty well, and we're gonna take a little bit closer look at some of the features by removing the bike from the carrier. more

The Sherpa is super popular with Tucson owners because it is lightweight, it's compact, it has all those premium features you would expect. It doesn't have as much capacity in terms of weight and size as the Kuat NV does, but for most of your bikes, this will be more than enough. Now it does have some limitations, but overall it has a great weight capacity, fits bikes that are different shapes and sizes, plus it looks and it feels good. On the Hyundai Tucson is also a good fit in terms of good ground clearance, as well as giving you some nice features like access to your hatch, even with the bikes on. Hey everyone, it's Evangeline here at Etrailer, and today, we have the Swagman XC 2 two bike platform rack. We'll take a look at how it fits on our 2022 Hyundai Tucson. Now, with the Swagman XC 2, it's actually really popular as a bike rack, mainly because it's an entry level rack, so entry level price, very affordable, but it gives you the stability of having a platform rack. Now, when you do use it with different vehicles, it works differently too, and the main thing here with the Tucson is with the hitch on this, I could not get this bike onto the closest tray without the pedals hitting the bumper or the door. So my clearance was very limited, so that's somethin' to be mindful. Now, if you have the smaller pedals, and we have those clip shoes, then you might be fine, but that's just somethin' to give you as a heads up. more

So the Kuat Transfer is actually really, really popular because it has this unique goalpost design that allows you to step into the rack to load and unload your bikes. Also, it is a more entry-level bike rack, if you like a Kuat rack 'cause they're really good at making racks, but you don't wanna pay that premium price as you would for a Kuat NV, the Kuat Transfer is a great alternative. Now, for the Tucson, there are some things though that are worth considering. One is that the Transfer does not tilt down very far. more

Like the name suggests, it does come included with a ramp so it's easy to load and unload your e-bikes. It's got a 66 pound capacity per bike, so it's more than capable of handling even some heavier e-bikes. Just keep in mind that weight capacity when you are using it. more

Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer today on our 2019 Hyundai Tucson, we're going to be taking a look at the Thule Camber hitch mounted bike rack. So the rack that we have here today holds up to a total of four bikes, but if you don't need to carry that many, there's also a two bike version available as well. So the rack is going to hold our bike down in three spots and it's going to keep it really secure. We're not going to have a whole lot of movement at all. We're going to have two straps here along the top tube, and the strap down here acts as a anti-sway strap. That's going to really help prevent that side to side movement. more

Thule Hitching Post Pro Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2020 Hyundai Tucson- Video

Hitching Post Pro is going to allow us to take up to four bikes with us to and from the trail. Now we're going to have three points of contact to hold the bike nice and secure, and have two on the cross tube on the top. This two bike platform rack is going to allow you to carry two bikes on the back of your vehicle. The top frame contact lever holds your bike on using a hook with a ratcheting mechanism.This simply pulls up, presses down and you can release it with the button here. On each wheel you're going to have a ratcheting strap. Let's take a closer look. Like most platform style racks, this can tilt away from the vehicle with both bikes still attached to get rear hatch access. But unlike others, the way to tilt it away, we have this handle up at the front, which is very convenient because most platform styles will have a switch or a knob or something that you have to remove up towards the front here to be able to tilt it away, which can be pretty awkward when you have two bikes installed or if you we're to get extensions, three or four bikes.We'll come to the handle here, pull it towards us and let it come down. Now, we have full hatch access. There's going to be plenty of space between the hatch and the handlebars, as you can see here. more

Let's go ahead and take a closer look at it here. Like most platform style bike racks, this can tilt away from the vehicle with both bikes still attached to gain full hatch access. To make it even easier when you're lowering it down or tilting it away, it has this lever here at the end where you pull it towards you, and that enables you to tilt. A lot of other bike racks of this style, they're gonna have the pins up at the front that you have to remove individually, or the one lever that you have to pull out, and that can be pretty awkward when you have two bikes attached, or if you we're to get the extension for this, even three or four bikes attached.So to lower it down, you go to that lever, holding on to the bike rack, pull it towards you, and let the bike rack come down. RockyMounts Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2018 Hyundai Tucson RKY10002- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Hyundai Tucson, we're going to be test-fitting the Rockymounts Back Stage 2 Bike Platform Rack for 2 inch hitches, part number RKY10002. We have a bike installed already. What sets this apart from the other platform style racks is it has multi-functions here. For one, it can tilt away with both bikes attached, to gain rear hatch access, but it can also swing out away from the vehicle for hatch access as well.How it tilts away, we have this handle at the front, and this is really nice for these platform style racks because a lot of them will have either the knob or the pins up at the front that you have to remove, and when you have 2 bikes installed, it can be pretty difficult to get through there, just to release it, and not only that, to help lift it down. With this, it's at the end. We pull that lever towards us while holding onto the bike rack, and you let it tilt towards you, nice and easy.In this case, our hatch opens with no problems, and plenty of space between the handle bars and the hatch as well. more

What does make this unique from other styles though, even though it has the center mast style clamping system, instead of having the hook that comes down to put it in place they have the clamps that can be adjusted up and down or whatever configuration you may need for your frame to hold that in place. Therefore, you really don't need the bike adapter bars that you would with the hook styles for bikes like kids' bikes or alternate frame bikes.It also has straps at both tires to hold it in place, and this can accept fat tire bikes up to 5" wide. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Hyundai Tucson, we're going to be test fitting the Kuat Transfer 2 Bike Platform Rack for inch and a quarter and two inch hitches, part number TS02G.We already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's go ahead and take a closer look. Like most platform style racks, this does tilt away from the vehicle for rear hatch access with both bikes still attached. What makes it slightly different though is you can do it just with the touch of your foot here at the end with this pedal. Push down while holding onto the bike rack, let it come towards you and now you have full hatch access.There's plenty of space in-between the bike and the hatch itself, as well as plenty of space on either side to get what you need, even the bulkier items. To put it back in its original position, you lift it up by the bike rack, never the bike. more

Yakima Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2018 Hyundai Tucson Y02479- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Hyundai Tucson we're going to be test fitting the Yakima Holdup Evo two by platform rack for two inch hitches, part number Y02479. We already have our bike installed here, let's take a closer look. And like most platform style bike racks, this can tilt away with both bikes still attached. It is a little different than the previous model in that we have this lever up at the front that you pull towards you, and that can enable it to tilt away and open up the rear hatch. So holding onto the bike rack, pull that handle towards us, and gently guide it down. And with that, we're able to open up our rear hatch with no problems and plenty of space in between the hatch and our handlebars.To put it back into it's original position, you simply lift up on the bike rack until you hear that click. more

We already have a bike installed on the rack and this is pretty much a very basic bike rack for those who are just taking your bikes from point A to point B and just want to get them there. It can carry, of course, up to two bike. This does not tilt or anything like that as you would get with other platform style bike racks. Instead, this grips it by three points. more

Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Hyundai Tucson- Video
Today on this 2016 Hyundai Tucson we're going to be test fitting the swagman XC 2 bike platform style bike rack, part number S64650. As you can see we already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. How it attaches to the bike rack is really only going to be one point of contact with the bike's frame and that's going to be this frame hook up at the top here which is nice and padded to ensure that your bike itself does not get scratched. It also has 2 wheel cradles on either side to hold the wheels in place. You can purchase straps if you need to to strap down the wheels, but they do not come with the bike rack itself. Let's go ahead and take the bike off and set it aside. To do that you just push the button on the side here of the hook, like so, lift up always holding onto the bike to make sure it doesn't fall forward into the vehicle. more

Curt Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Hyundai Tucson- Video
Today on this 2016 Hyundai Tucson, we are going to be test fitting the Curt Premium 4 Bike Rack Part Number C-18064. As you can see we already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. Now how the bike is attached to the rack, you are going to have three points of contact with your bike's frame. We are going to have two straps up top here and one off to the side, which is going to act as an anti-sway strap to keep it from going back and forth, possibly hitting the bike rack or the bikes in front of it. Let's go ahead and take that off and set it aside. Once you remove the straps it's always a good habit to put them back in place because you don't want to lose them while you are driving. more
